When we started out we were among the youngest winemakers in Sweden. We took a daring challenge in the Nordic - making red wine. People say it is impossible to make red wine in Sweden. That is why we make red wine by the heart. Without three hundred years of family winemaking to rely on, we started out with bare hands and pure imagination. The vines are as new as our vision in the landscape. In the context of the wind, sun, soil and seasons we help the vines produce grapes and explore what wines we can make out of it. And in the winery be creative and humble to time and long term storage in the wine cellar. We make different wines every year and never the same wine twice, there is no reason, because we would not know what wine would be the best to aim for. With the blue grapes we make red wine in the good year and rosé in the less good year. We investigate different winestyles as rosé, claret and sparkling rosé and sparkling claret and different red wines. With several wines of different winestyles we present an interresting wine menue at the vineyard for visitors to explore. We change the wine list each year to promote visitors come by the vineyard, and in that way stimulate wine tourism. Meanwhile wine mature in the wine cellar. We believe the most warm welcome is the foundation of a personal experience exploring the wines of Vejby, where you can feel the sun and the salty breeze from Skälderviken, enjoy the birds sing, enjoy the the roses and tranquil peace by the fountain at Gussi Platz inner courtyard.  
BJÄRE WINE COUNTRY

 

Vejby Vingård is in the company of many rising pioneer vineyards in Skåne that push the boundaries of winemaking in the cold Nordics. More vineyards go commercial and the development is certainly promising. Vejby Vingård is the first commercial vineyard on the beautiful Bjäre Peninsula. We started by "the single vineyard" concept, a holistic idea that all vines, grapes and wine tended, all bottles of wine produced and stored, are also commercially served here. We aim for the exclusive moment worth remembering.

We pictured three words in one sentence, Bjäre Wine Country. And if you say it a thousand times,  produce wines, invite visitors exploring this wonderful peninsula for the reason of wine, we belive we have invented something new and  brought winetorism to Bjäre. And in order to enhance this we cooperate with other fellow winegrowers on the Bjäre peninsula and business networks in Båstad and Ängelholm.

 

 

 

 

 

 

   SINGLE VINEYARD

Our wines are handcrafted only from grapes grown exclusively at the vineyard. We produce red wine,

still rosé wine, claret and sparkling rosé wine. 

The grape varieties are 

fermented separately and refined for single grape variety wine and blended with varieties from the 

vineyard. 

The wine is maintained in german stainless steel 

tanks and mature, depend on the choosen winestyle, in vats, american or french

oak barrels for months before bottleing.

We believe in the "single vineyard" concept which is about the focus in growing our own grapes, know our terroir of land, soil, microclimate, weather, explore by winemaking, experience by tasting, blending and labelling 

bottles and in that way contribute in the emerge of the Nordic winestyle.

- A WINE COLLECTION

When our best wines reach the highest potential they are reserved for our special collection in the winecellar. In the Vejbyan Collection the wines set for long time and may only be available for exclusive wine nerds.

OPEN DAYS

The vineyard is generally open every day all year, but in case, have a look in our calendar for available dates when you book your visit. 


We highly recommend our most popular session "exclusive winetasting" which includes the

winemaker show the 

vineyard, the winery and winetasting session in the showroom served with a small high profile 

snack, and where you will

get acquinted to Vejby and our passion of wine. 

The exclusive visit usually takes about 1-2 hours.

served wine. 

GROW BY MAKING

The process of making wine starts in the vineyard during the growing season in summer and continues in the winery during the winter season.

Our location means cool climate winegrowing and use of hardy vines. We are part of the northern frontier of where grapegrowing and winemaking has emerged in the last two decades.

Winemakers in southern Scandinavia are very much in the pioneer business of winemaking creating new and interresting wines for the consumer market.

THE INITIATIVE
 
The vineyard at Vejby Vingård was planted by family and friends in Valborgsmässoafton 2007. The winemakers aim is to tend wines, 

grow grapes and produce unique and excellent hard to find wines. 

 

Bjäre in western part of Skåne, where the vineyard is located is a wellknown tourist

destination in southern

part of Sweden. 

With wine of excellent bouquet, taste and colour the winemakers meet with winetourism and show the beauty of Bjäre in a new way  - in a glass of wine.

THE GRAPE HARVEST, is a popular event where you experience our way of winegrowing. Its free of charge, an open and social event for all ages where you pick grapes, chat with friendly people and wine nerds, the winemakers over a coffey and piece of bread.

At the end of the day when all the grapes are picked you can buy a ticket for wine celebrating

the journey towards a new Vejby vintage.
